Enroute to Naya Phul from Ghandruk

We descended quickly down a series of steps from Ghandruk to the river (1300 meters).

Trekked past hikers and villagers to a riverside village called Syauli Bazar where we stopped for lunch.

Enroute we continued to notice that Nepalese folks will carry just about anything across their foreheads.

Bags of rice, converted basket-chair carrying an old man, stacks of grass, & even a Fendi bag! (see below)

Lunch was exceptionally good.  I ate everything on my plate and had seconds.

Found out later that the cook's wife (who was carrying supplies for our lunch), had missed the rest stop.

We ate the same assortment of food but prepared by the lodge.  No wonder lunch tasted slightly differently.

Lunch Menu: ketchup/tomato-flavored potatoes, bread, salad consisting of cabbage and pears,

canned pears, curried eggs, hot lemon
