Go Nepal 2001!

I returned from a record 3-week long vacation on October 28, 2001.   Nepal was beautiful and India, well, let's just say that Taj Mahal was quite fabulous.  I went through a total of 36 rolls of film.  35 of them were 36 exposure film.  My fabulous camera squeezed out an extra shot out of each roll.  Grand total # of photos taken:  (35 x 37) + 25 = (quick...all you math geniuses) 1,320 !!!

I have posted onto this website a selection of photographs from this trip.  In total, 422 photos are posted.  I hope you'll enjoy the tour of Nepal and India through these.

A few rolls of my photos were ruined (alas!).  For a while I placed the blame on shoddy photo processing done by Delhi Photo Company.  I was wrong.  A photo lab technician at Duggal was kind enough to explain to me how this could have occurred.  Piece(s) of dirt could become trapped on the photo plate within the camera as negatives are exchanged / loaded.  When this happens, streak(s) might appear on negative(s) as the negative strip moves within the camera.  Soooo....you will see streaks on some of the photos posted on this website.  Sorry.  Can't be helped.  Wish I knew about this problem before the trip.

The trek I partook in was organized by Peregrine, an Australian adventure company.  To read more about this trip, the two-week Annapurna-Dhaulagiri camping trek, click here for the trip notes.  You will need to have Adobe Acrobat reader to view this.
